Faculty Professional Development

Engaging faculty in certified/accredited faculty professional development (FPD) is a key program area for OPED. Much like CPD, programming is available to faculty (including New Brunswick) via live (face-to-face), webinar, online/distance, and one-on-one consultations with a Teaching Consultant. OPED also has online resources including vodcasts, teaching tips, and archived workshops.

Fundamentals of Clinical Research

Fundamentals of Clinical Research Modules are a series of accredited modules that will give you an overview of various aspects of clinical research. This initiative stemmed from the Faculty’s Strategic Plan (Destination Excellence) to increase research activity amongst residents in the Faculty. Fundamentals of Clinical Research Modules consists of five modules that give learners an introduction to several aspects of clinical research, which can be built upon by discipline‐specific training.
The Modules are:

  • Introduction to a Research Project
  • Research Ethics
  • Qualitative Research
  • Quantitative Research
  • Clinical Trials

The Fundamentals of Clinical Research has been a collaborative effort between the Office of Research and Graduate Studies (RGS), the Office of Professional & Educational Development (OPED), and the Clinical Research Directors Committee, Faculty of Medicine.
