Physician Assessment Training & Oversight (PATO) Program
The Physician Assessment, Training, and Oversight (PATO) Program, which is currently in development, will transform assessment of physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). PATO will consist of two major pathways: (1) Practice Ready Assessment – Newfoundland and Labrador (PRA-NL); and (2) Re-entry/Re-assessment for NL physicians. The PATO program will support efforts to strengthen the recruitment and retention of physician services to the province. It will also support the province as it strives to build quality health care by supporting physician assessment, continuous learning, and opportunities for feedback and re-training of our physicians.
