| History Taking and Physical Examination Sessions | Class of 2023, Phase 3, 7720 - Clinical Skills III, Clinical Skills, Special Topics | 24 | 12 sessions of 2 hours each. In these 12 sessions, students will be taking complete histories and physical examinations on patients. In the early sessions, these will be done with tutor supervision. In the later sessions, students will meet patients on their own to perform a history and physical exam. Students will present the patient's findings to the tutor on another day, with the patient present to review as needed. In addition, students will be expected to complete write ups for the patients that they see along with a problem list and differential diagnosis.Two of these 12 sessions are titled "witnessed physical exams". In these sessions, student are observed by a tutor, one on one, doing a full physical examination on a patient. The first of these sessions is formative in nature and verbal feedback is provided to the students following the session. The second of these sessions is summative. In both of these sessions, students are provided with written feedback. |
