The topic is often one that is shaped by misunderstanding, misinformation, discomfort, controversy and discrimination. We will discuss sexuality and bodies, gender categories and heteronormativity, a range of sexualities, sexual identities, myths, health related issues, and community resources related to sexual health. The material is intended to increase awareness of and respect for the spectrum of healthy sexual identities and provide resources for addressing health related concerns around sexual behaviours. Students should gain some confidence in their abilities to address health needs and create a safe clinical encounter for all patients regardless of their sexuality. Furthermore, students will learn how to be an advocate and communicator for healthy sexuality and sexual safety for all the population. | Health System Funding | Class of 2023, Phase 3, 7750 - Community Engagement III, Administration of Effective Health Programs | 2 | (Session 2) | Origins of Canada’s Health System, Federal Responsibility | Class of 2023, Phase 3, 7750 - Community Engagement III, Administration of Effective Health Programs | 2 | Session 1 | Physician Payment and Professional Regulation | Class of 2023, Phase 3, 7750 - Community Engagement III, Administration of Effective Health Programs | 2 | Session 3 | Physician Supply and Economic Evaluations | Class of 2023, Phase 3, 7750 - Community Engagement III, Administration of Effective Health Programs | 2 | Session 4 | Black Bag - Orientation | Class of 2023, Phase 3, 7750 - Community Engagement III, Community Engagement Placement (Phase 3) | 1 | | Health Illness Beliefs | Class of 2023, Phase 3, 7750 - Community Engagement III | 1 | Please note required readings "PRIOR" to session.
