9623 describe the spectrum of Neoplasia and distinguish between benign and malignant neoplasms and discuss in general how tumors are classified.
9883 distinguish between grading and staging of tumors.
9884 discuss the impact of a neoplasm upon and individual, highlighting: local effects, hormonal effects, paraneoplastic syndromes, cancer cachexia.
9885 discuss the genetic nature of carcinogenesis including references to the following concepts: genetic predisposition, physical agents of carcinogenesis, oncogenesis, oncogenes (including growth promoting and growth inhibiting genes), the products of oncogenes (oncoproteins and their mechanisms of action).
