Description:
Aim: The public health system is key to promoting health and preventing disease in the community context. Public Health programs and services complement the physician’s practice. The partnership between public health and primary care practitioners is key to the early detection and prevention of community health problems. This session will describe the basic components of the public health system. It will include a discussion of the specific role that public health physicians play within the system and the contribution of physicians in general to the maintenance of public health.
