Session 2: Mrs. Elizabeth WrightAim: Understanding the health status of a population or community is fundamental to the development and delivery of health services. Measures of health are essential tools for:•planning appropriately targeted programs •allocating of resources•evaluating the effectiveness of services. A physician who knows the health status of the community is better able to plan, deliver and assess the usefulness of care. This session will provide an opportunity to review health indicators and how they may be used in assessing community health status.
