This online webinar is designed for family care team members in Newfoundland and Labrador, aimed at supporting the integration of trauma-informed care practices. Participants will explore the core principles of trauma-informed care and how they can be applied in family caregiving settings.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- Define Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) and Discuss its Relevance in Clinical Care Settings, how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the SDoH and intersectionality play a role.
- Identify and explain the principles of Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)and explore its significance within primary care environments to ensure safe, equitable, and effective care for patients who have experienced trauma.
- Recognize Common Signs and Symptoms of Trauma in Pediatric Patients and Understand the Impact on Physical and Mental Health.
- Employ trauma-sensitive communication strategies that promote a safe, trusting environment for pediatric patients and their families. This can include strategies like creating a "welcoming space" and utilizing clear, compassionate language.
- Develop skills to apply trauma-informed practices within an interprofessional healthcare team (CAYAC), fostering collaboration and enhancing patient-centered care.
