There is compelling evidence that AI has the potential to benefit a wide spectrum of patient care, such as predicting sepsis, planning radiation oncology treatment, and enhancing diagnosis through visual pattern recognition. Yet, thoughtful development and deployment of technologies is needed to avoid implementing inaccurate prediction models, disrupting clinical workflows, and exacerbating socioeconomic biases.
