What is a PRA?

Practice Ready Assessment – Newfoundland and Labrador (PRA-NL) is a 12-week clinical field assessment (CFA) during which a candidate is placed on the Education Register and is assessed for readiness for practice under a provisional medical license in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Practice-Ready Assessment (PRA) is a pathway to practice in Canada that involves examinations and an in-practice clinical assessment. The National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) support this pathway via a pan-Canadian model, developing common standards, tools, and materials for PRA Programs across the country (https://mcc.ca/examinations-assessments/practice-ready-assessment/).
