Clinical Promotion and Tenure Webinar

Are you preparing for promotion and tenure as a clinical faculty member? Do you have questions about the process, the criteria or what goes in a teaching dossier? If so, please join us on Thursday, June 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. while we share tips on how to best prepare your file and discuss the criteria required for success. Participants will be engaged in activities that will help jump start their promotion and tenure submission. Details for the webconference will be shared with registrants.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the Promotion and Tenure (P&T) criteria requirements
  • Describe how to organize included material in the P&T file
  • List the resources available to assist with file preparation
  • Describe the process by which P&T files are considered
  • Describe what a teaching dossier is and for what purposes it is used
  • Develop a teaching dossier as per the recommended framework
  • Select artifacts to support the claims made about teaching practice and skill

The Office of Professional and Educational Development (OPED), Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University, is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME), a subcommittee of the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS). This standard allows OPED to assign credits for educational activities based on the criteria established by The College of Family Physicians of Canada, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
