This year, the Gairdner lecture at Memorial University was delivered by Dr. Janet Rossant, both in-person and via a virtual platform on Monday, May 30, 2022. Dr. Rossant also received an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Science, from Memorial University at the Spring Convocation on May 31.
 

Georgia Darmonkow, a second-year medical student at Memorial and president of the Doctor of Medicine class of 2024, was born and raised in the province in which she now studies. 

Valerie Webber's path to Memorial's Faculty of Medicine began in the humanities.

Having studied medical anthropology in their MA program at McGill University, Webber's focus shifted to public health at Memorial.
