Memo from the Dean: June 18, 2020
The Faculty of Medicine has been in the news and on social media this past week regarding an issue with a learner. Neither the Faculty of Medicine nor Memorial University is able to comment on specific actions being taken in regard to an individual learner. To do so would be a violation of a learner’s privacy.

Let me state that the Faculty of Medicine is categorically against any form of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, intimidation, or harassment of any description. Read more...

Dr. Michelle Ploughman has been awarded the Rhodes Inspirational Educators Award.
A Canada Research Chair (Tier 2), Rehabilitation, Neuroplasticity and Brain Recovery and associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Ploughman was nominated by MD learner Matthew Downer whose connection to her lab started in 2014 and has continued throughout his education.

On May 21, the Division of Pediatrics held its 2020 Pediatric Residents Research Day. Held by videoconference, it featured many examples of research projects by residents.
