Family Medicine

Research

Family medicine research is well poised to make a difference NL.  The Primary Healthcare Research Unit has established a solid track record and has had many successes under Dr. Kris Aubrey's direction.
There has been approximately $15 million in research funding attributed to family medicine projects in the past six years.
Family physician faculty members account for $4 million as principal investigators.
We are active in  medical education research, health services delivery, informatics and clinical research.
We present regionally, nationally and internationally and our work has resulted in approximately 20 publications annually.   Implementing the Triple C curriculum, changes in our clinical services delivery as we move to the Patient’s Medical Home and other initiatives will open up further opportunities for scholarship and research in the near future.
