Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine Program at Memorial University

Welcome to the Emergency Medicine Enhanced Skills Program at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

We are very proud to offer a robust residency program that will both challenge you as a resident and prepare you for an exciting and fulfilling career in emergency medicine. Our goal is to ensure graduates are ready to practice the full spectrum of Family and Emergency Medicine, from rural/remote environments to tertiary teaching hospitals.

Successful completion of this twelve-month program will lead to eligibility to sit the Examination of Added Competence in Emergency Medicine. Candidates who successfully complete the examination will be awarded a Certificate of Added Competency (CAC) by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and will be able to use the CCFP(EM) designation.

The Program was granted full Accreditation in July 2018.
