Important Information for 2020-2021 Applicants

New information is available regarding Winter 2020 grades for the 2020-2021 cycle; please see the COVID-19 Impact tab for full details. 

The CaRMS Online Admissions Application Service opens on June 30, 2020 @ 12:00pm NDT for the August 2021 application cycle. 

The application deadline date to apply for August 2021 is Wednesday, September 2, 2020, 11:59pm NDT (Newfoundland Daylight Time).

The deadline to write the MCAT for the 2021 application cycle has been extended to Saturday, August 29, 2020.

The CASPer exam is being added as a requirement to the application process, effective June 1, 2020.

There have been notable changes this year to deadlines, residency definitions, allowable references and acceptable extracurricular activities. Please review this  webpage regularly to stay informed. 

Please note the following regarding deadlines:

  • University prior to the October 3, 2020.deadline and the scores released to Memorial The MCAT must be written within six years of the application
  • MCAT scores must be released by the applicant to Memorial University. Scores are not forwarded to any university without the student's request. ‚Äč
  • Official transcripts must have an issue date from the applicant’s educational institution on or before the deadline date.

  • Full details on how to submit an electronic transcript to CaRMS can be found in the Application Guide. All applicants should read this guide thoroughly before applying. 
    Transcripts emailed directly to CaRMS by universities are not accepted. They must go through a URL supplied by CaRMS to your institution.
  • Reference letters need up to 48 hours after submission to CaRMS to appear on the applicant’s file. All references must be submitted to CaRMS by the deadline date. It is the applicant's responsibility to follow up with references and adhere to this deadline. 

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor their CaRMS account regularly to ensure their application is complete and follow-up with their institutions and/or references as required before the deadline date. The Admissions Office cannot confirm if documents and references have been received. Application fees are non-refundable.   
Applicants selected for an interview will be interviewed in the Fall of 2020; November 14 &15, 2020 are tentatively selected as the interview dates for the 2020-2021 application cycle. These dates are subject to change.
