Updates for the 2021-2022 Application Cycle

The application system for the 2021-2022 admissions cycle is now open!


The application deadline for August 2022 is Thursday, September 2, 2021 @ 12:00pm NDT time.

The deadline to write the MCAT for the 2021-2022 application cycle is August 14, 2021. Scores must be released to Memorial University by September 17, 2021. 

The CASPer exam is required and test dates for the 2021-2022 cycle are:

Sunday, August 8th @ 1:00 pm EDT
Tuesday, August 31st @ 5:00 pm EDT

SnapShot is required within 10 days of completing the CASPer exam.

Important updates for this application cycle:

  • official transcripts will only be required if you are selected for an interview. All applicants must upload an unofficial copy of their transcript with their application. 
  • acceptable references have been updated from 2020-2021; references submitted on applications that do not adhere to the guidelines within will be closed.
  • effective June 1, 2021 international applicants are no longer accepted. All applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • effective June 1, 2021, the definition of a Newfoundland and Labrador resident has been clarified.
  • The MCAT score must be within 5 years of the deadline date; scores older than this (prior to September 2, 2016) are expired and not accepted.
  • CASPer scores must be released to Memorial University. 
  • MCAT scores must be released to Memorial University. CaRMS is authorized to retrieve the scores on behalf of Memorial University and will upload scores to applications as they become available from AAMC. 

All documents not required as part of the application process should be sent to CaRMS at admissions@carms.ca. 


Incomplete applications are not considered and closed. 

Applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor their CaRMS account regularly to ensure their application is complete and follow-up with their institutions and/or references as required before the deadline date. The Admissions Office cannot confirm if documents, scores, and references have been received at CaRMS. Application fees are non-refundable.
