Leadership - Strategic Planning

Strategic Planning 2023

I am delighted to share information about the strategic plan for Memorial University Faculty of Medicine. Throughout 2017, we developed the faculty’s strategic roadmap for the next five years. In January 2018, our plan, Destination Excellence, was launched.

Our new strategic plan deals with the challenges, opportunities and realities of our environment while concentrating on what  matters most --- achieving excellence in education, research and engagement with the communities we serve and partner with.

As part of our strategic planning process, we developed the faculty’s vision for the future and crafted our strategic directions and goals: Through excellence, we will integrate education, research and social accountability to advance the health of the people and communities we serve.

We are establishing short and long-term priorities, defining what success means and how we will measure progress and performance. We are charting our future by engaging faculty, staff, students, alumni, university and community partners and more.

There will be ample opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, reflection and communication throughout the process.

As we move forward on this journey, we will provide you with information about how to get involved and keep you updated on our progress. I encourage you to participate in this exciting initiative and look forward to implementing our roadmap for the future together.

Kindest regards,

Dr. Margaret Steele
Dean of Medicine
