The Confocal Digital Imaging Unit consists of an inverted research quality microscope with an Olympus Fluoview FV 1000 laser scanning head. The biological microscope has 6 lasers with SIM scanner and is equipped for confocal fluorescence, DIC, dark field, bright field and phase contrast microscopy.

There is also an OLYMPUS Fluoview FV 300 laser scanning upright biological microscope with 3 lasers. The Spot RT CCD Cool Camera provides full digital image preparation in bright field or fluorescence. Karen Stapleton can provide a wide range of consulting and technical support to the unit’s clients. Training is provided upon appointment and user fees apply.
