About Us - 2019 Annual Report

On behalf of Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine, I am very pleased to present our 2019 Annual Report.

As you will read in these stories, we continue to be community inspired. Whether it’s Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Nunavut, we at the Faculty of Medicine are all working towards the same goal: to integrate education, research and social accountability to advance the health of the people and communities we serve.

This report reflects much of the work our faculty, staff and learners have done to achieve the goals in our strategic plan, Destination Excellence, now in its second year of implementation.

I am so proud of all the accomplishments of faculty, staff and learners. Whether it’s ground breaking research or working with underserved populations, they continue to give of themselves for the greater good. Many of them go above and beyond what’s expected to ensure that the Faculty of Medicine is a school to be proud of: Proud to work here, proud of the research we do that benefits the people and communities we serve, and a proud place to learn.

Thank you for your contributions.

Sincerely,

Dr. Margaret Steele, MD, FRCPC, MEd, DFCPA, CCPE, FCAHS
Dean, Faculty of Medicine
