Genetics students graduate at fall 2014 convocation

Two graduate students in human genetics received their degrees at fall convocation.
 
 

Nelly Abdel-Fatah, supervised by Dr. Terry-Lynn Young, a professor in the Discipline of Genetics, received her PhD during fall convocation. Her thesis is titled The Genetic Aetiology of Otosclerosis in the Population of Newfoundland and Labrador
Lydia Dan, supervised by Dr. Sevtap Savas, an associate professor in the Discipline of Genetics, received her M.Sc. (medicine). Her thesis is titled Variations in Genes Regulating Angiogenesis, Lymph-angiogenesis and Metastasis: Associations of Three Polymorphisms with Outcome in Patients with Colorectal Cancer.

 
The Discipline of Genetics would like to wish the new graduates all the best in their future endeavours and hope they go onto prosperous and satisfying careers. Currently, Dr. Nelly Abdel-Fatah is a post-doctoral fellow at the University Of Calgary.
