Interested in health and medicine? Want to learn more about medical advancements and how these can affect you in the future? Now is your chance to become a “medical student” for seven weeks! Experience and participate in large group discussions on various topics presented by members of Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine.

Registration is underway for our 2013 spring sessions. These sessions will run from May 1, 2013 to June 12, 2013, and will be held in the main auditorium in the Faculty of Medicine.

Each night, two Faculty members will present on areas related to health and medicine. The seminars are intended to explore the scientific basis of topical medical issues followed by a question and answer session. The topics vary from year-to-year but in the past have included dermatology, obesity, blood clots, mental health, ER use, and many more. Sessions are intended for a broad audience ranging from high-school students, who may be interested in medicine as a profession, to seniors with an interest in health and health-related topics.

The Faculty of Medicine Mini-Med School began in February 2004 in the spirit of forging stronger ties with the community and extending the reach of our school by sharing the expertise of our medical faculty. With medicine advancing at a rapid rate, many people are increasingly concerned with maintaining good health and receiving the best treatment possible.

Due to the popularity of our mini-med schools in the past, registration will occur on a first come basis, so register soon to confirm your place – seats are limited. The cost of the upcoming Class of 2013 is $150.00 for adults ($169.50 tax included) and $75.00 for seniors and students ($84.75 tax included).

Free parking is available in Lot 9 right next to the school.

Can’t attend in person? Our webinar service will allow you to benefit from mini-med school from your own location.
