The Dean’s Research Excellence Award recognizes faculty members whose contributions to research in their fields have made them active and valued participants in Memorial’s vibrant research community. For this recognition, there were awards at the mid-career and senior level. “Their hard work and dedication contributes to the thriving research environment at Memorial University and embodies our vision to advance the health of the people and communities we serve,” said Dean Margaret Steele.

Three staff members including a new award this year for technical service, were honoured as well, with service awards. “These employees really go above and beyond to serve the needs of the Faculty of Medicine,” noted Dr. Steele. “I am very proud of the contributions they make every day.”
There was also the Max House Teaching Award which acknowledges the outstanding contributions of an individual in areas such as advancing continuing medical education and professional development, teaching and scholarly activities for physicians and health professionals.
