Dr. Wayne Gulliver receives prestigious Albert Neisser Lectureship award
Group-Picture-(1).pngThe medicine and dermatology professor presented the Albert Neisser Lecture earlier this month during the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation Conference in Warsaw, Poland.

Dr. Gulliver is the first Canadian to receive the international award.

The Albert Neisser Lectureship is given to dermatologists who have made significant clinical and research contributions to dermatology. It is named after Prof. Dr. Albert Neisser who is best known for his work with sexually transmitted diseases, especially gonorrhea.

Dr. Gulliver has been in clinical practice for 30 years and has supervised hundreds of clinical trials covering many aspects of dermatology. He is a former chair of the Discipline of Medicine, at Memorial’s Faculty of Medicine (2009 – 2011) and former Chief, Division of Dermatology at Eastern Health (1996–2008).

Dr. Gulliver was honoured for his pioneering work in the use of biologics in the treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa and his landmark publication on evidence-based therapy in the treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa according to a release issued by NewLab Clinical Research Inc.
