The Gathering Rounds
April 12th, 7:00 p.m.

  • May 1st
 The Office of Learner Well-being and Success is seeking expressions of interest from physicians, residents, and MD learners to speak to residents and MD learners about lived experiences with humanness and heart in medicine as they relate to well-being and success.
This is a hybrid event taking place on Thursday, June 9th, 6:30-8:30 p.m. on WebEx AND in person at the Faculty of Medicine building, Room 1M101. Speakers from all over NL are encouraged to submit 2-3 paragraphs to Tina Pomroy by Sunday, May 1st to outlining the following (click here for more information):

The Office of Learner Well-Being and Success will be hosting a Financial Fair on Tuesday March 22nd from 12pm to 1pm in the Atrium.
The focus will be on Transition To Residency but the fair will be open to all learners and residents and a number of financial institutions will be present.

Navigating Interpersonal Conflict at Work & School Webinar
LWS has partnered with EDGE to offer MD learners and residents this session on navigating conflict. Interpersonal conflicts can occur in any setting, and we often face these difficult situations s at some point during our study or work life. This session will show you how to mitigate or resolve these issues through using conflict navigation strategies combined with effective communication.

Be YOUR Valentine Sessions
Join LWS Learner Well-being Consultants Charlotte Dove and Tina Pomroy as they guide you through self-compassion techniques and facilitate a group discussion. Attend one or both sessions. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. 10 participant limit. WebEx link sent to registrants 15 minutes before session.

Join medical students from across the country in a moderated conversation about balancing collaboration and competition with peers in medical school. This peer support session is confidential; learners can participate anonymously or choose to identify themselves. This is part of the CFMS Safe Space initiative.

Back to Virtual Reality
Many learners are tired of the ups and downs of Covid-19. Returning to virtual med school in the new year has meant adjusting and adapting yet again. If it hasn’t flowed perfectly, it’s OK. Join your TGR facilitators this week, Erin Andrew and Sarah Hipditch, for a chat about this shift back to virtual classes and life. Come for part of the session or for the whole thing.
