“HPV and Beyond: The Evolving Classification of Female Lower Genital Tract Neoplasia”
Dr. Parra-Herran will focus on a critical review of the new classification of endocervical adenocarcinoma and squamous lesions of the vulva, including the molecular pathways of HPV pathogenesis.

​Dr. Carlos Parra-Herran, is an academic gynecologic pathologist at Brigham and Woman's Hospital, Department of Pathology. His clinical interests include Cancer Genetics, Cervical Neoplasia, Gynecologic Pathology, Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Pathology. Dr. Parra-Herran's research focus is on the morphologic and molecular characterization of gynecologic tract neoplasia.. He has authored more than 65 peer-reviewed journal articles and 15 book chapters. He also edited one major textbook in gynecologic pathology (Foundations of Diagnostic Pathology, Elsevier 2020). He serves as teaching faculty for continuing medical education courses offered by multiple international societies such as the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists and the Latin American Pathology Society. He also serves as a member of the education committee of the USCAP.
