Student and Resident Interest Groups - Global Health Interest Group

Mission Statement:

Increase awareness and provide global health learning opportunities in order to create a socially accountable community that promotes global engagement both locally and abroad.

 

Objectives:

Raising awareness about global health issues amongst students and the general public, with a focus on global and local marginalized and vulnerable populations.

Collaborating both on a national level and international level, with other universities, and locally, in our communities, to develop and advance initiatives, share ideas, and foster a global community.

Developing projects which are sustainable and aim to extend the notion of community from local to global and creating a university wide community of global citizens.

Supporting and collaborating with the Memorial University Faculty of Medicine Global Health office in its projects and initiatives; working towards the implementation of a medical school curriculum which has a greater emphasis on global health

Organizing informal, interactive events in order to encourage the formation of globally aware physicians and to let our campus and communities know that global health is fun!
