Important Information for 2020 Applicants

The CaRMS Online Admissions Application Service will open on July 3, 2019 for the August 2020 application cycle.

The application deadline date to apply for August 2020 is Wednesday, September 11, 2019, 17:00 NDT (Newfoundland Daylight Time)It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their complete application is submitted to CaRMS by the deadline date.

Complete applications include MCAT scores, transcripts, and references submitted to CaRMS by September 11, 2019, 17:00 NDT.

Please Note:

  • The MCAT must be written within five years of the application deadline and the scores released to CaRMS for Memorial University prior to the deadline date, with the exception of those applicants writing the MCAT after August 7, 2019. Applicants writing the MCAT after August 7, 2019 must release their scores to CaRMS as soon as they are released by AAMC.
  • MCAT scores must be released by the applicant to Memorial University; scores are not forwarded to Admissions by AAMC without the student's permission. 
  • Official transcripts must have an issue date from the applicant’s educational institution on or before the deadline date; current students and graduates of Memorial University must request official transcripts. 
  • Reference letters need 3-4 working days after submission to CaRMS to appear on the applicant’s file. All references must be sent to CaRMS by September 11; it is the applicant's responsibility to adhere to this deadline. 

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor their CaRMS account regularly to ensure their application is complete and follow-up with their institutions and/or references as required before the deadline date.  Application fees are non-refundable.   
Applicants selected for an interview will be interviewed on November 2, 2019.  MUN MED uses a hybrid of a Traditional Interview and Multiple-Mini Interviews (TaMMI) as well as a 30-minute Situational Judgement Test (SJT) under test conditions. Due to the structure of the TaMMI process, all interviews will occur on November 2, 2019 and no deviation from this date can be accommodated.
