Important Information for 2020 Applicants

The CaRMS Online Admissions Application Service will open on July 3, 2019 @ 5:00pm NDT for the August 2020 application cycle.

The application deadline date to apply for August 2020 is Wednesday, September 11, 2019, 17:00 NDT (Newfoundland Daylight Time).

The application system is now closed. No further applications can be submitted for the 2019-2020 application cycle.

It is the personal responsibility of the applicant to ensure their complete application (MCAT scores, transcripts, and references) is submitted to CaRMS by the deadline date.

Please note the following regarding deadlines:

  • The MCAT must be written within five years of the application deadline and the scores released to Memorial University prior to the deadline date, with the exception of those applicants writing the MCAT after August 7, 2019. Applicants writing the MCAT after August 7, 2019 must release their scores to Memorial University as soon as they are released by AAMC. Click here to see the release date of MCAT scores for 2019.
  • MCAT scores must be released by the applicant to Memorial University; scores are not forwarded to Admissions by AAMC without the student's permission.
  • Official transcripts must have an issue date from the applicant’s educational institution on or before the deadline date; current students and graduates of Memorial University must submit an official transcript request through Memorial Self-Service for issue by mail directly to CaRMS (address below).
  • All transcripts, MCAT scores, and references MUST be sent to:
Document Centre
 171 Nepean Street, Suite 101
 Ottawa, ON
K2P 0B4
  • Reference letters need 3-4 working days after submission to CaRMS to appear on the applicant’s file. All references must be sent to CaRMS by September 11. It is the applicant's responsibility to follow up with references and adhere to this deadline.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.  Applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor their CaRMS account regularly to ensure their application is complete and follow-up with their institutions and/or references as required before the deadline date.  The Admissions Office cannot confirm receipt of documents; as documents are received at CaRMS, applicants can confirm receipt by monitoring their account. Application fees are non-refundable.
Applicants selected for an interview will be interviewed on November 2, 2019.  MUN MED uses a hybrid of a Traditional Interview and Multiple-Mini Interviews (TaMMI) as well as a 30-minute Situational Judgement Test (SJT) under test conditions. Due to the structure of the TaMMI process, all interviews will occur on November 2, 2019 and no deviation from this date can be accommodated.
