The Discipline of Family Medicine held its annual Resident Research Forum on March 7 at the Fluvarium. Through posters and oral presentations, family medicine residents had the opportunity to display their research skills. This winners were there were five winners, and each received $250 as a prize. The Research Award went to Dr. Kelly Hicks for her poster Newfoundland Rural Emergency Facilities: Are We Ready? The Literature Review Award went to Dr. Christine Blyth for her presentation, Is There an Increased Risk of Breast Cancer in Women Who Have Had Therapeutic Abortions? Dr. Andrew Ip won the Developmental Project Award for his presentation, The Health Law Handbook. Drs. Jason McCarthy and James Holwell shared the Creative Writing Award for their project, Health (Asthma) Education for Children and their Parents Through Use of the Comic Strip.
