Psychiatry residents share prize
Two psychiatry residents at Memorial shared first prize for the
resident presentations at the Atlantic Province Psychiatric meeting in St. John's, which
took place in June. Dr. Tina McWilliam-Burton (L) and Dr. Anne Porter (R), both graduates
of Memorial, share the honor. Dr. McWilliam-Burton's presentation was the importance of
sleep EEGs in children presenting to psychiatry with behavioral problems. Dr. Porter spoke
about flashbacks in the context of phenomenological descriptions of intrusive memories in
literature and psychiatry.
