Using images from the now-defunct Life Magazine, Dr. Bert Hansen made a different era come alive to the audience attending the 2009 Dr. Nigel Rusted Lecture in the Medical Humanities on Nov. 13.
Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine has transferred ownership of its Hyperbaric Unit to Eastern Health. Under the transfer agreement, the university retains the right to use the specialized equipment in the Hyperbaric Unit for education and research purposes, but Eastern Health will manage the clinical use of the chamber itself. The facility has increasingly been used to treat patients suffering from a variety of conditions and illnesses.
