Electives
Electives are an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum and are based on the principles of self-directed
learning. Students define goals for their Electives according to their own learning objectives.
Electives provide an opportunity for students to:
- explore career possibilities
- pursue individual interests
- explore/study particular areas of the curriculum in greater depth
- gain experience in aspects of medicine not offered in the curriculum
- benefit from cross-cultural/Third World/International experiences
