Accreditation of the Undergraduate Medical Education Program

The Faculty of Medicine will undergo a full accreditation survey of its undergraduate medical education program in the spring of 2013.  Preparation for this survey has begun.

A large poster outlining the activities and timelines associated with the accreditation process is located in two areas of the medical school. One is adjacent to the Main Auditorium coat check, and the other is on the wall opposite the entrance to Admissions and to Research and Graduate Studies.

The poster contains references to several documents related to the accreditation process. 
A list of these documents is included below:

Document	Description
Working Group Memberships	Lists the individuals who are members of self-study working groups conducting the institutional self-study. Includes the categories and related accreditation standards for which each group is responsible. Description of standards and related annotations are found in Functions and Structure of a Medical School at www.lcme.org/functions2011may.pdf.
Terms of Reference	Describes the purpose and responsibilities of the Steering Council. Lists the individuals who are members of the council.
Leads and Assigned Standards	Includes a list of working group leads along with the accreditation standards assigned to each group. Groups are responsible for evaluating the current degree of compliance with each assigned standard. Description of standards and related annotations are found in Functions and Structure of a Medical School at www.lcme.org/functions2011may.pdf.
Roles and Responsibilities	Describes the roles and responsibilities of the working group members.
Progress Report	Template used by administrative offices/operational units to track and measure compliance with accreditation standards.
