PhD students recruitment

Research Areas

The PhD candidate will perform the research projects funded by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

  1. Four gut hormones, peptide YY (PYY), ghrelin, CCK and pancreatic peptide (PP), their peripheral concentration with the long term regulation of macro- and micro-nutrient regulation;
  2. Genetic variations in PYY, ghrelin, CCK and PP and the variations of their circulating levels; major factors influencing the four gut hormones;
  3. Interactions of the four gut hormones on food intake and body composition regulation;
  4. Positive energy challenge and adipose derived adipokines and gut hormones;
  5. Genetic, endocrine and nutritional factors in child and adult obesity and diabetes.

 

Qualification:

Candidate has a master degree in the fields of genetics, nutrition, endocrinology, biology or biochemistry with strong interest and motivation in research.
