Yajun Yu, a second-year PhD student, and Michelle Penney, a third year M.Sc. student, in the Discipline of Genetics gave poster presentations at the International Genetic Epidemiology Society Meeting held in Toronto, ON, between October 24 and October 16, 2016.

Yajun Yu, a first-year PhD student in the Discipline of Genetics gave an oral presentation on colorectal cancer and genetic markers of patient outcomes at the Target Meeting’s 4th World Cancer Online Conference held between May 17 and May 19, 2016.  Yajun is supervised by Dr. Sevtap Savas.

On June 2, 2016 the Discipline of Genetics had three students graduate during Memorial University's 2016 Convocation – Dr. Erfan Aref-Eshghi, Ms. Amy Powell and Mr. Salem Werdyani. The discipline would like to wish them the best of luck in their new endeavors and thanks them for their hard work and dedication to the field of human genetics.
