Teaching/Learning Development - Program in Effective Teaching for Residents

The Program in Effective Teaching for Residents (formerly known as TIPS) is a blended in-person/online introduction to the theory and practice of teaching for medical residents. It allows participants to explore topics in medical education including:
  • Adult learning principles
  • Teaching and learning style differences
  • Presentation principles
  • Small group teaching
  • PowerPoint essentials
  • Clinical teaching skills
  • Giving effective feedback

The workshop is currently mandatory for PGY2 residents in programs other than Family Medicine. Contact your program director if you have any questions about the requirements.
