In the academic year 1969-1970, the Memorial University Calendar included the first Faculty of Medicine section. It contained information about members of the faculty, general information, degree regulations and courses of instruction. The divisions within the Medical School were identified, beginning in year one with Cell Studies, Clinical Sciences and Community Medicine. The following year the divisions encountered a change with Cell Studies becoming Basic Medical Sciences. The other two divisions remained the same.

The first ten years of the Faculty of Medicine’s section of the MUN Calendar, which demonstrate the growth of the Medical School for that time period, were digitized for this project.
