AIRN was pleased to participate as a partner in the collaborative team who developed, implemented and expanded the ‘Spread the Word, Not the Virus’ workshop. The workshop sought to educate people who have experience with intravenous drug use on what Hepatitis C, HIV and Co-infection are, how to reduce their risk of infection of HIV and Hepatitis C, and resources available in the community (Support, testing, treatment).
Community Engagement to Enhance HIV & STI Testing in Northern Nova Scotia

The Northern AIDS Connection Society, in collaboration with a number of local community partners, the NS Advisory Commission on AIDS and the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia are engaging communities across Northern Nova Scotia in finding innovative ways to establish safe, accessible, and sustainable testing options for HIV, other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and blood-borne pathogens (BBPs) within the broader context of unsafe sexual health and needle-sharing behaviours.
