Objectives
Electives, an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum, are based on the principles of self-directed learning. Students define goals for electives appropriate for their own learning objectives. Electives provide an opportunity for students to:
· Explore career possibilities.
· Pursue individual interests.
· Explore/study particular areas of the curriculum in greater depth.
· Gain experience in aspects of medicine not offered in the curriculum.
· Benefit from cross-cultural / Third World / International experiences.
