MedQUEST

MedQUEST
is an exciting, career-oriented summer program for students in grades 10-12 in Newfoundland and Labrador. This program is offered July 1 - August 9, 2013, covering six one-week sessions.

THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF MedQUEST ARE:
•  to introduce students to the fascinating world of the health sciences and rewarding careers such as doctors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, dentists, veternarians, nurses or researchers.
• to encourage enthusiasm for study in post-secondary institutions.
• to provide career development information through career exploration.

Students will enjoy lectures, demonstrations, experiments, research projects, guest speakers, and tours of health facilities.

Throughout the sessions of MedQUEST, students work in teams and research a health science career of interest. The main idea of the health science projects is to peak student interest and curiosity in careers and to learn that research can be fun! View the latest MedQUEST Journal for a su
mmary of research reports submitted by 2012 participants.

Students must apply for MedQUEST and there is a $200.00 registration fee that includes residence accomodations. Meals, travel to and from the program and any incidental expenses are not included.

MedQUEST is held under the aegis of the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland with contributions from industry and provincial regional health care boards.
