Welcome to the Atlantic Practice Based Research Network. The PHRU conducts clinical and healthcare delivery research in the practices of community physicians and nurses. These practices constitute the APBRN—a network of primary care providers who have agreed to become involved with the PHRU in conducting research in the primary care setting. To date, 117 physicians and nurses from the Province have signed on with APBRN. Seventy-eight of these practitioners are actively involved in PHRU–APBRN partnership projects. The focus of our current research is on the prevention and management of chronic diseases, care of the elderly, natural health products, and lifestyle interventions.
