Visiting Elective Residents
The following lists the requirements that must be met to do an elective rotation at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Please note that this is for trainees of Canadian Faculties of Medicine only.
University requirements:
- Completion of the Elective Proposal and Authorization form - completed form is to be sent to the Postgraduate Medical Education Office and must include:
- Your university, program, level of training and contract dates.
- Signatures of both your elective supervisor and program director
- Elective supervisor and program director must also indicate if prescription writing privileges are being request.
- The date and your signature on the bottom of the proposal.
- Confirmation of CMPA (including Newfoundland as part of your membership during the elective).
Other requirements:
- Confirmation of registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
You are required to be registered with the College, please contact them directly at (709) 726-8546. Please note that an additional fee will be charged by the College for prescription writing privileges.
