Complete image analysis

The Confocal Digital Imaging Unit consists of upright and inverted research quality microscopes coupled with a Fluoview FV 300 laser scanning head. The microscopes are equipped for confocal fluorescence, DIC, dark field, bright field and phase contrast microscopy. A research quality Leica stereomicroscope is also available. Capabilities include highest quality optical sectioning, 3D reconstruction and time lapse observation. In addition the unit has a complete image analysis software package (Image Pro Plus) from Media Cybernetics, a recognized leader in image analysis software design. The Spot RT CCD Cool Camera, attached to any of the three microscopes provides full digital image preparation. One medical technologist, Karen Stapleton, provides a wide range of consulting and technical support to the unit’s clients. Training is provided, user fees apply.
