As the only medical school in Newfoundland and Labrador, research that focuses on the need of our communities is a priority. Dr. Sevtap Savas, lead of the Patient Advisory Committee and a professor in the Division of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, and Aaron Curtis, co-ordinator of the Patient Advisory Committee of the Atlantic Cancer Consortium, have written an article about their new public-scientist partnership.

Their team is supporting cancer research and public engagement with the Patient Advisory Committee of the Atlantic Cancer Consortium.

Cancer can affect any of us.

However, some groups of folks experience extra hardship or barriers. The LGBTQ community is among them.
