Biography:

Dr. Ken Burrage graduated from Memorial University Medical School in 1981 and followed this with another year of general surgical training at MUN. He then did his residency in Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) at the University of Western Ontario, followed by a Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellowship with Dr. David Briant at the University of Toronto. This Fellowship was approved by the Joint Council for Advanced Training in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery with additional emphasis on Facial, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Burrage returned to Newfoundland in 1988 to begin a private practice in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, as well as Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His current practice is approximately 60% Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery done primarily at St. Clare's Hospital, with patient follow-up through the Newfoundland Cancer Clinic. He also has a pediatric otolaryngology practice based at the Janeway Children's Hospital.

Dr. Burrage is a Clinical Assistant Professor with Memorial University's Discipline of Surgery. He is the Newfoundland representative for the Canadian Otolaryngology Society. He is also a member of numerous committees, and is currently the chairman of the Janeway O.R. Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Canadian and American Academies of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the Canadian and American Societies of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
