Association Study - A CODING Study
The Complex Diseases in the Newfoundland population: Environment and Genetics (CODING) study is exploring the genetic, endocrine and nutritional links to obesity and diabetes by comparing volunteers’ DNA isolated from a blood sample with his/her bone density and body fat percentage. Measurements are taken by a bone densitometer (shown in picture). We are currently looking for male/female volunteers of Newfoundland origin (at least the 3rd generation of Newfoundlander), to take part in the study. It only requires approximately forty-five minutes. If you would like to participate please see the Volunteer page.
