The Division of Community Health & Humanities conducts research in the social sciences and humanities as they relate to health and medicine. The Division has several general research aims, including: understanding the health of populations and communities; developing community health interventions; assisting with the development of community health policy and health care delivery; and advancing training in community health research methods.

Research within the Division is conducted considering the importance of the research values of the Division, including: social justice, solidarity and compassion; the need to work with communities; the importance of health promotion and diverse prevention; acceptance of diversity and perspectives; and that research should be a means to enhance communities' capacities.
