CHIA Privacy Policy Statement

While the protection and security of personal information is important to CHIA and MUN as a whole, there are special requirements with respect to personal health information that need to be met to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of that particularly sensitive information. Protecting the confidentiality of personal health is essential if the privacy of individuals is to be maintained. The integrity of health information must be protected to ensure accuracy and completeness of all datasets used for research purposes. The availability of information is also critical to effective research. Research informatics systems must meet unique demands such as high computing capacity, high availability and trustworthy results. Protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of research information is therefore a high priority for CHIA.

CHIA’s collection and use of information will generally be governed by various information sharing agreements associated with various research projects and related undertakings by authorized users of its information assets.
