Interprofessional Health Education (IPHE) Faculty Travel Awards
The purpose of the IPHE Faculty Travel Award is to support knowledge dissemination at peer-reviewed national and international conferences related to Interprofessional Health Education (IPHE) curriculum and/or research at Memorial.
The award is available to all faculty members in the Schools of Human Kinetics and Recreation, Nursing (3 sites), Pharmacy, Social Work, the Counselling Centre, Faculties of Medicine and Education, and Department of Psychology. The applicant(s) should demonstrate how the knowledge dissemination will advance IPE at Memorial. Priority will be given to projects that are associated with the Centre for Collaborative Health Professional Education (CCHPE).
Preference will be given to applications from interprofessional teams consisting of faculty from more than one academic unit. Normally, only one member of an interprofessional team will be eligible for the IPHE travel award for any given abstract.
The value of the award will be a maximum of $2000.
The award will be made by the Governing Council, Centre for Collaborative Health Professional Education (CCHPE).
Each faculty member will normally be eligible to receive one travel award every three years.
There will be two application deadlines per year; normally October 20 and March 28.
Applications will be submitted to the Program Manager, CCHPE, and include information related to the conference (normally in the form of a conference brochure) a statement of the significance of the conference, the academic abstract, projected travel costs, and statement of past funding from the IPHE Travel Award.
Applications can be submitted before the conference abstract is accepted. However, confirmation of abstract acceptance is required before funds are released.
IPHE Faculty Travel Award recipients may be required to present their funded scholarly work at an IPHE Symposium at Memorial.
Travel advances and claims will follow MUN Travel Policy.
The Governing Council reserves the right to withhold full disbursement of the IPHE Faculty Travel Award every year.
