Message from the CCHPE Director

The Centre for Collaborative Health Professional Education is involved in planning, implementing and evaluating interprofessional educational (IPE) activities from the undergraduate to post-graduate and practitioner levels.  We work collaboratively with students and faculty in a number of academic units including:
  • Centre for Nursing Studies
  • Counselling Centre
  • Department of Psychology
  • Faculty of Education
  • Faculty of Medicine
  • School of Human Kinetics and Recreation
  • School of Nursing
  • School of Pharmacy
  • School of Social Work
  • Western Regional School of Nursing
We coordinate a wide variety of interprofessional learning activities including:
  • Undergraduate modules and blocks in a variety of subject areas
  • Practice-Based Learning
  • Teams in Practice
  • Continuing Interprofessional Education
A Governing Council comprised of the Dean and Directors of participating academic units at Memorial University guides the work of the Centre. We have a dedicated core of Faculty Associates across all academic units who are instrumental in the development and delivery of our IPE curriculum activities. We have a strong cohort of students who are committed to learning and practicing interprofessionally.  Our Faculty Scholars are actively involved in scholarship activity related to interprofessional education and collaborative practice.  We are also fortunate to have a small group of core staff of the Centre whose skill and determination make the seemingly impossible happen.

We encourage you to browse our website and learn about our mission, activities, and people.  You will also find links to external resources that may help you in the development of IPE activities. The staff and faculty of the Centre are interested in your ideas – please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Together we can build the health care system of the future.
